Bio

Crossroads formed in early 2004, when three long time friends, for the first time, found each other available and looking for a gig at the same time. It was only logical to form a new group since they had all played together in other bands, on and off for over ten years, but never all together. After four years together, Crossroads experienced the only personnel change so far. Luckily, there was someone ready, willing and able to take the bull by the horns. Each member of Crossroads is a serious, professional musician with many years experience in the music business.

With Crossroads' extensive repertoire, it is possible to tailor every performance to suit the individual needs of the venue, making every performance unique. The talent, spontaneity and chemistry of this eclectic group make every performance a memorable event. Wherever you hear The Crossroads Band, you'll have a booty-shakin', boot-scootin', Southern-style good time!

Greg TolbertGreg Tolbert, lead guitarist and lead vocalist, cut his teeth on Van Halen and Stevie Ray Vaughn and today amazes true guitar lovers with his blazing riffs. An official member of the "Guitar of the Month" club, Greg can take any song, from any genre, and make it his own, and play it like you have never heard it before.

Greg played a few years with the legendary Night Owl, hitting all the hottest spots in Birmingham , Dothan , Macon and Milledgeville, and opening concerts at Sloss Furnace. His last gig before Crossroads was with Janelle Frost and Landslide. Greg has been performing with the areas hottest bands for over fifteen years.

Mark Truett, drummer and backing vocalist, after many years of performing and teaching marching percussion, started playing in local club bands in 1991. Most of the early gigs were house bands, including Southbound at The Alabama Show Palace. He also played with Landslide (without Phil and Greg), and spent three and a half years in a reunion of Tin Pan Alley often backing up Jeff Cook of the band Alabama.

Over the past fifteen years, Mark has been playing and recording with some of the areas best bands, opening shows for many national touring artist, including Mark Wills, Hank Williams III, Jimmie Van Zant, Little River Band, John Conlee, Gene Watson, Little Jimmy Dickens, Billy Joe Royal, Quiet Riot, Brian Howe, David Allen Coe, Jessica Andrews, Miranda Lambert, Jo Dee Messina and more.

Tyler Ward, bass guitarist and lead vocalist, has been a professional musician since 2002. He spent the first three years of his career playing drums and singing with The Jim "Dawg" Parks Band. He then moved on to become bassist and vocalist for the well known party band, RPM, before joining Crossroads in early 2008.

Tyler has spent some time in the studio recording drum tracks and as an assistant recording engineer.

Phil MatthewsPhil Matthews, (2004-2008) former Crossroads bass guitarist and lead vocalist, has been all over the Southeast performing for the last twenty-five years. He has played all over Atlanta , including the 1996 Summer Olympics, seasonally at Calloway Gardens with the band Chaz, and did a few seasons at Six Flags with Obadiah Jasper. He then moved on to take the role of lead vocalist for The Bucks on the college circuit for two years.

Most recently before Crossroads, Phil played with Janelle Frost and Landslide in Birmingham and surrounding areas, as well as The Supplements based in Gadsden . Phil has recorded and performed with many other notable groups and musicians during his twenty-five year music career. He is currently on the road Old No.7, a group consisting of former members Nite Owl.
